In-person and online therapy for socially anxious professionals, shy singles, and overwhelmed couples in the San Francisco Bay Area and throughout California
Helping you build meaningful relationships.
Human beings are wired to connect. And while relationships give life meaning, they can also fill you with fear, frustration, or overwhelm. That’s especially true if you’re shy, highly-sensitive, or reeling from past relationship traumas.
If you’re here, you’re probably feeling helpless and stuck. You want to stop repeating the difficult dynamics in your relationships but don’t know how.
You want to feel loved, accepted, and connected, but instead you feel isolated, insecure, and hopeless.
Perhaps you have the sneaking suspicion that you'd be happier if you made changes in how you relate to others, but maintaining the status quo feels safer.
Stuck in loneliness and dread, chances are you feel like something’s missing. You long for deep, meaningful connections with friends, family, coworkers, and partners.
Do you feel anxious and alone?
Do any of the following resonate with you?
Even in a crowd, you feel alone.
You've noticed that the spark in your relationship is gone.
Your Inner Critic constantly points out your mistakes and flaws.
Fear of rejection keeps you from dating and finding your person.
You hide your true thoughts and feelings because you worry that something’s wrong with you.
You and your partner are fighting too much.
If yes, rest assured that you’re not alone. Relationship struggles, including difficulties with friendships, romantic relationships, and colleagueships, impact everyone at one time or another.
Everyone needs support now and again – that’s human, not a failure. Reaching out for help is an immensely courageous act and we honor you for even considering it. In fact, we see self-care as an act of generosity; after all, “you can’t pour from an empty cup.”
Please know that you don’t have to go through life feeling anxious and lonely. With the right support, you can gain the clarity and confidence needed to finally overcome your relationship struggles.

How in-person and online therapy in the San Francisco Bay Area and California works for social anxiety, singles and couples
Opening up to another human can feel scary. Thankfully, through teletherapy you can meet with your therapist from the comfort of your home.
Your counselor will meet with you in their secure video office, which you can access through your computer, cell phone, or another mobile device.
Our 50-minute in-person or online therapy sessions typically occur weekly. We recommend at least 8 sessions to fully explore and work through your concerns.
During your private sessions, your therapist will listen intently, teach you vital skills, and share the latest that science has to say about how to build healthy relationships.
Your therapist will bring their hardwon wisdom from spending years (if not decades) helping people like you to improve their relationships. They’ll engage actively in the process by sharing what works (or doesn’t) when it comes to connecting with other humans. In addition, they’ll use experiential as well as evidence-based approaches to help you develop vital relationship skills.
We believe that insight + action = change, so we’re dedicated to finding creative ways for you to implement everything you’re learning.
Here’s how in-person or online therapy will work, step-by-step:
From the very first session, your therapist will create a warm, non-judgemental space so that you will feel comfortable opening up about your struggles.
As you share, your therapist will listen deeply and ask questions to ensure they have a complete picture of your relationship challenges.
Together, you’ll set measurable goals as well as small, manageable steps you can take to achieve your objectives. This roadmap will include things you can do during and between sessions.
Next, your therapist will focus on immediate concerns such as managing painful feelings and difficult relationships.
While your therapist helps you address urgent matters, they’ll begin to teach you evidence-based interpersonal skills and relational neuroscience practices to help you connect with others with ease.
Once more pressing issues are resolved, sessions will shift to focus on your longer-term relationship goals. Your counselor will help you develop the strategy, skills, and self-esteem needed to build joyful, healthy relationships. They’ll cheer you on as you courageously take more risks and build genuine connections.
Throughout the process, your therapist will help you learn through action, not just talk. They’ll use creative, experiential practices designed to help you fully integrate and implement what you’re learning.
Your therapist will remain flexible, designing sessions to meet your unique and ever-changing needs.
Over the course of your sessions, you will start making progress toward the relationships and life you desire.
